1969: Establishment - Selim DEMİRELLİ
Otoform Automotive started its activities in the automotive spare parts sector in 1969 with a retail store located in Taksim. Our founder, Selim DEMİRELLİ, achieved rapid growth in a short period of time, increasing the number of branches in Istanbul to 5 and providing comprehensive services to customers on Ford spare parts.
1981: Mehmet KÜÇÜKTURAN joins Otoform Automotive
Otoform began wholesale sales and imports, contributing to the supply shortage in Turkey by importing spare parts for Ford vehicles.
1985: The birth of the Formpart brand
Recognizing the importance of branding, Mehmet KÜÇÜKTURAN made the strategic decision to create a new brand that would better represent the company's commitment to customer satisfaction. This led to the birth of the Formpart brand, which he introduced to domestic customers with the promise of European quality and design.
1990: The beginning of export
Otoform has managed to sell various spare parts produced in Turkey to UK and then started to expand its sales range by outsourcing various parts to Turkish manufacturers.
1992: Start of Production
Taking into account the demand for exports, Otoform started manufacturing front suspension parts such as ball joints, tie rod ends in a small workshop of 120 square meters with three people
1994: The years in Maslak
With a staff of 30 people and the need for higher production capacity, Otoform purchased a 600 square meter space in Maslak to increase production and double exports.
1996: The Çorlu factory construction
Due to the limited capacity of the facility in Maslak and the need to move every two years, which was becoming tiresome for the staff of 70 people, Otoform decided to make a major investment and purchased land in Çorlu to start building a factory right away.
1997: Start of production at Çorlu factory
Otoform moved into a 13,000 square meter indoor area and established Formpart Otomotiv Tic. San. A.Ş. After obtaining the ISO 9001 certificate, Formpart became an important player in the production of steering & suspension parts.
1999: Foreign Capital
To develop its vision, foreign capital was included in 49% of Formpart, allowing for further growth and expansion.
2000: 250 employees
With a personnel of 250 people, Formpart started exporting steering & suspension parts to the world's leading automotive spare part companies.
2002: First 500 Exporter
With a personnel of nearly 500 people, Formpart ranked 472nd among the top 500 exporters and has consistently maintained its position in the top 500 in the following years at Çorlu.
2005: Shift in strategy
Mehmet Küçükturan decided to downsize in the face of increasing competition worldwide and rising costs. The Çorlu factory was transferred to the foreign partner, and a new restructuring was undertaken while preserving the rights of the Formpart brand.
2006: The beginning of production in Istanbul
Formpart, by adopting a flexible production model, started assembly-oriented production in Istanbul by sharing machining production activities with its own suppliers to create a more competitive, controllable, and agile structure.
2007: Made to Stock strategy
Formpart expanded its inventory to facilitate faster shipments to customers, particularly weekly shipments to its European clients. As a result, the company has entered another phase of growth.
2010: Growth in product range
Formpart has increased its product range to include 4,000 items in the steering and suspension category. The company has also rented additional warehouses to accommodate these new products.
2011: B2B Catalogue
Formpart has started to provide online b2b service to its customers, where they can see live stock/ prices and give order instantly.
2012: Warehousing by Ekol Logistics
Due to the growing inventory and increased business volume, Formpart has transferred all storage and logistics activities to Ekol Logistics to be able to provide faster and error-free shipments to our customers
2014: Tecdoc
Formpart has taken its place as an approved supplier in the world's largest database of the automotive industry
2015: Mezzanine storage warehousing
Formpart, as seeing warehousing as core to its business as production, decided to it in-house and switched to a system with 99.99% accuracy in shelving and shipping by increasing its efficiency and capacity with a multi-level racking system
2016: XL products
After long efforts and obtaining the patent, Formpart has introduced XL products with a design change that has a 40% longer lifespan for its customers.
2019 50 years @ business
Formpart celebrated its 50 years of anniversary.
Formpart confidently looks to the future with its production-to-export philosophy.
